UNAIDS 2009 Report on AIDS

UNAIDS_logo_enUNAIDS report in their latest findings that from 2001 to 2008 the number of new HIV infections fell by 17%. They warn though, " AIDS continues to be a major public-health priority". For the latest UN statistics on the Pandemic click here.

Stepping Stones

Community-based  strategies of HIV prevention, care and support

The Strategies for Hope Trust produces manuals, books and films about ways in which communities can address the challenges of the global HIV epidemic. 

All of these materials are evidence-based, well illustrated and written in user-friendly language.  Over 1 million copies of these materials are now in circulation worldwide. The Church and its Response to HIV/AIDS

Based on interviews with people on the ground, this booklet from Grace Baptists Mission Radio Team brings together the experience of those who are dealing with HIV/AIDS in a church based context. The basic facts about the disease are covered and issues raised by the pandemic are addressed from biblical perspective. The aim of this booklet is to be practical giving examples of what churches can and are already doing to bring a gospel shaped response to HIV/AIDS.

Dangerous Surrender

Kay Warren's New Book Encouraging Christians to Join the fight against the HIV/AIDS Pandemic is creating a stir amongst evangelical churches. "I hope this book is disturbing to people," Warren said. "There are situations in the world that I cannot tolerate for one more second.
I think there are some people who won't get past the first few chapters. It's not a light read," said Warren, whose husband wrote the multimillion-selling 'The Purpose Driven Life'. "For some people, it will come at the right time for them."
