CHAA’s "Covenant to Care " scheme  and CHAA's newly produced " Creed for the AIDS Pandemic" drew much excitement and interest from the  350 delegates at Tearfund's,  HIV conference in March.  A CHAA spokesperson said,   " There's no doubt that "Covenant to Care" and CHAA's  new  "Creed for the AIDS Pandemic" are catching the church's imagination at just the right time.  They provide an opportunity for the UK church to engage with the development agencies working with HIV and come alongside those most affected by the HIV pandemic".

Click the Tab above for more details of CHAA's "Covenant to Care" and contact  CHAA  for a copy of the "Creed for the AIDS Pandemic" to use in your church.

A DVD and a CD of Tearfund's conference are available from Bracknell Church on 01344 862699

Holy Trinity Brompton church in London, home of the ALPHA course, has added its weight to CHAA by signing up as a member.

A spokesperson for CHAA said " Our aim is to involve more churches in Britian in the fight against HIV and AIDS. With HTB coming on board we will potentially have a very large constituency of churches who will enter the struggle. We are very pleased that HTB have taken this important step and would encourage other churches to do the same."

Kay Warren's New Book Encouraging Christians to Join the fight against the HIV/AIDS Pandemic is creating a stir amongst evangelical churches. "I hope this book is disturbing to people," Warren said. "There are situations in the world that I cannot tolerate for one more second.
I think there are some people who won't get past the first few chapters. It's not a light read," said Warren, whose husband wrote the multimillion-selling 'The Purpose Driven Life'. "For some people, it will come at the right time for them."

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has said that churches need to be brave, imaginative and honest in the fight against the spread of HIV and Aids.

In a message for World Aids Day [Saturday 1st December], issued for the first time as a video available on the internet, Dr Williams said churches are actively engaged in the global response to HIV and described as 'a scandal' the limited access to drugs and treatment in deprived parts of the world.
