The Christian HIV/AIDS Alliance is a network of Christian agencies, churches and individuals praying and working together to serve and empower those affected by HIV and AIDS

Our Vision is to see a mobilised UK Christian community which is aware of and active in compassionate Christian responses to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Our Mission is to facilitate compassionate, strategic Christian responses to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic by working together as an Alliance to educate, inform and challenge the UK Christian community. 


 
Terence Higgins Trust looks for church partnership

The Terence Higgins Trust - the largest HIV charity in the UK held a focus group for faith leaders in November and CHAA was invited to attend. Rev Alan Bain, Chair of CHAA said " This was a groundbreaking meeting with African churches and the THT - we believe with our partnership and the right approach in the African diaspora we can make great strides in eliminating AIDS deaths  from the UK."


 
CHAA inputs Royal African Society

Chair of CHAA Rev Alan Bain attended the Royal African Society conference "Faith and Development in Africa; A new perspective on Diaspora engagement" held in London in November. It was an attempt to increase dialogue and support the African diaspora contribution to progress towards development goals - particularly HIV.


 
AHPN calls for health equality

CHAA was invited to the AHPN (African Health Policy Network) meeting at the House of Commons in November to discuss inequalities towards African Health professionals in the NHS. People from BME communities constitute 20% of the NHS workforce but represent only 1% of its executive directors. The NHS is "Snowcapped" claimed Francis Kaikumba CEO of AHPN. See more here.


 
Esteem joins CHAA

The Esteem Resource Network  joined CHAA in November 2012.

Esteem delivers education, training and networking opportunities in the area of relationships and sexual health.  They believe; “young people have the right to excellent, engaging, age-appropriate and responsible relationships and sexual health education that will support them in making healthy choices”.
